The Copernicus Ocean State Report (OSR) celebrates its 10th edition. Over the past ten years, the OSR has documented the ocean’s natural variability and its profound changes affecting marine environments, biodiversity and societies, providing an authoritative scientific record that supports research, policy, and society. Ten years of science. Ten years of shared knowledge. Ten years of collaboration across borders and disciplines.

This milestone belongs to the scientific community, the network of Copernicus Ocean State Report authors across Europe and abroad, whose curiosity, dedication and collaboration have shaped a decade of ocean knowledge: 636 authors, 214 publications and 258 organisations from 37 countries. A collective effort that continues to grow.
To mark this milestone, a special 10th anniversary supplement invites readers to explore a decade of ocean science in an innovative, immersive scrollytelling format. Through ten key insights, it traces the changes affecting our ocean, the advances in our scientific understanding and the importance of sustained ocean monitoring and international collaboration.
