THE 8 CROATIONS REARRESTED AT AIRPORT

Barely a day after walking to freedom, the eight Croatians who were at the center of an alleged child trafficking attempt have been re-arrested by the Department of Immigration.

On Monday, the Croats had their case discontinued but their freedom was cut short with the Immigration arresting them on instructions from the National Prosecution Authority (NPA).

Department of Immigration public relations officer Namati Nshinka confirmed that the eight were re-arrested on Tuesday.

“I can confirm the eight Croatians have been re-arrested. We received instructions from the NPA to re-arrest,” Nshinka said.

The eight, who are couples, are yet to be slapped with fresh charges.

The Croatians were initially arrested last year at the airport in Ndola after it was suspected that they were trying to traffic four children from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
