Marine Le Pen has appealed to the European Court of Human Rights to challenge her ineligibility for election. This case is also important for the European Court of Human Rights, which is putting its credibility and reputation on the line. It will not be without consequences for the Court itself. Also, all European conservative governments and parties are watching this case closely and are interested in how the Court will rule.

ECLJ has had the honor of working with a team of former ECHR judges on this extremely important case. This law-suit is so important for France, as the upcoming presidential elections will be decisive. It is also important for our political freedom, which is eroding year after year and has once again been undermined by Marine Le Pen’s conviction.

We have been working on the case in depth and would like to share with you the main elements of this case so that you can understand the “judicial trap” that has been set for Marine Le Pen and her voters. In our view, all the facts point to a just condemnation of France’s actions. It has the power to do so, and there is no doubt that it would do so if the candidate prevented from running for office were “progressive” and convicted in a conservative country. The facts speak for themselves.

Grégor Puppinck presented the five acts of this judicial trap to the Conservative Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and at a conference given at the ECLJ. French newspaper Le Figaro also reported on it in.

This case is extremely important. The issue is not whether one supports Ms. Le Pen or another candidate, but rather a matter of defending our political freedom against institutions willing to do anything to prevent conservatives from coming to power.
