Primarily known as a jazz guitarist and singer, George Benson also explored other musical genres such as R&B, pop and funk during his career. Also, Benson is considered one of the great guitarists of his generation, and remains an influential figure in the music world.
It was with his first album as a leader in 1964 that he gained recognition in the jazz world in the years that followed. However, his 1976 album “Breezin'”, featuring “This Masquerade”, brought him massive commercial success. Other notable hits include songs such as “Give Me the Night” (the entire album is produced by Quincy Jones in 1980), “Turn Your Love Around” and “On Broadway”.
