Today, we are celebrating International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia! And yesterday, PM Cameron awarded Points of Light award to Shaun Dellenty: Actor, Inspirational Speaker, Voiceovers, who champions changing culture in schools for LGBT+ inclusion.
The UK is committed to non-discrimination on any grounds, including sexual orientation and gender identity. We are committed to promoting and protecting the rights for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGB&T) people.
LGB&T people are not asking for special rights, merely to be accorded the same dignity, respect and rights as all other citizens.
Human rights are universal and should apply equally to all people. We are implacably opposed to all forms of discrimination and work to uphold the rights and freedoms of LGB&T people in all circumstances.
The UK continues to champion the rights of LGB&T people. We urge the international community to address discrimination, including on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, and to promote diversity and tolerance.
